Why I built WanderGlyph

Travel memories deserve more than a checklist.

WanderGlyph turns years of travel into a map that feels personal. Mark states, counties, and countries manually or from private Timeline analysis, correct every detail, and export a story worth sharing.

Clear answers

Before you map.

The essentials about privacy, compatible Timeline files, accuracy, and how your finished map is created.

Is WanderGlyph free?

Yes. It is free to use and does not require an account.

Is my Timeline file uploaded?

No. Timeline files, coordinates, and selected places are processed inside your browser and are not sent to Chasing Digonto.

Which files work?

Current Google Timeline JSON exports and many older Google Takeout Location History JSON files are supported. Select the JSON file, not the ZIP archive.

Why might a place be missing?

Google may omit samples, border travel can be ambiguous, and simplified boundaries may exclude tiny territories. You can always add or remove places manually.

How are categories assigned?

Timeline visits are estimated from stop duration, overnight activity, and route-only crossings. Lived in stays manual, and every category can be changed before export.

What usage information is measured?

Only anonymous feature counts such as demo starts, successful analysis, exports, and shares. Filenames, coordinates, and selected places are never recorded.
